Degrassi season 15: premiere date

Will the drama television series Degrassi be renewed for the new season? What about Season 15 premiere? We are waiting for the start date in 2016!

Canadian teen drama television series «Degrassi: The Next Generation» appeared on CTV in 2001 and became the fourth franchise project after The Kids of Degrassi Street, Degrassi Junior High, and Degrassi High. Soon the show became popular and in 2009 started its run on TeenNick, and from 2013 on MTV Canada.

Unfortunately, on June 4, 2015 the management of these two channels confirmed that the broadcast of the show would be over after Season 14, which dissapointed the army of the fans. The release of special 1-hour episode is scheduled for July 31, after which the final episode will be broadcast.

The good news: the owners of the franchise aren’t going to close it and the rights to broadcast have been already sold to Family Channel and Netflix. The premiere date of Season 15, which has been renamed «Degrassi: Next Class», is scheduled for January 15, 2016, but DHX Media doesn’t provide us with more exact information.
