CBS channel representatives did not wait for the finale of the second season of the series Zoo and officially announced that the project was renewed for the 3rd season. Such a quick decision was made due to the excellent rating of the show, in comparison with a rating of their other summer projects (American Gothic, BrainDead).

The right holders have noted that the two-hour finale of the second season means a renewal, so they do not intend to postpone a decision on the financing of the third season.
