A rare and romantic Georgian locket compartment pendant crafted in warm 9ct Gold, crowned with a glowing halo of Garnets. Ten flat-cut Garnets are neatly collet-set in a single oval cluster that frames the central glazed window, creating a delicate, luminous wreath of deep red around the heart of the piece.
At the centre lies an original locket compartment with a clear cover, currently housing a lock of blonde hair for a beautifully sentimental touch. We have left it exactly as found to honour its history, but the hair can easily be removed upon request. Refined details and a graceful oval silhouette make this an exquisite keepsake to cherish and wear.
Item Details:
ERA: Georgian (1714–1837).
MEASUREMENTS: Pendant is 32mm long including jump ring.
Pendant itself is 26mm long x 20mm wide.
Garnets are approx. 5mm in diameter.
WEIGHT: 5.6g.
MATERIALS: Tests as 9ct Gold, Garnet.
HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.
PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.
Condition:
VERY GOOD-EXCELLENT: The Garnets are well matched and securely set with only light age-appropriate surface wear visible under close inspection. The Gold shows gentle wear commensurate with age, with evidence on the back from a brooch conversion. No obvious later repairs to the settings are observed.
