What about Luther series 5? When will the new episodes be released? We are waiting for the premiere (start) date on BBC One in 2016-2017!

Will the television series Luther be renewed for Season 5? Are the creators planning to continue the story of famous Detective Chief Inspector?

After two and a half year break Idris Elba came back on BBC One, as the rights holders of the project decided to release two more episodes about life of Inspector Luther. Some experts called it to be the fourth season, but the creators themselves claim it to be “a mini-series“.

Of course, there is no need to doubt in the success of the given crime drama, as the winner of Golden Globe Awards actor Idris Elba attracts a great army of fans. In their recent interviews the representatives of BBC One told nothing about the possible financing of Season 5 of the given show, that’s why the TV viewers should wait patiently for the announcements.

Even Idris Elba himself isn’t ready to express his opinion concerning the renewal release.

UPDATE 1 (June 10, 2017): BBC America announced that Idris Elba will suit back up as Luther, for a four-part Season 5. Filming will commence in early 2018.
