For over 35 years, Jacquard has been dedicated to meeting the needs of artists and crafters everywhere. Family owned and operated, we have been the leader in artist materials for fabric and are committed to offering top quality materials to everyone from professional artists to hobbyists and students. Jacquard's Acid Dye beautifully colors protein fibers with ease. Hard-to-dye fibers such as wool, silk, alpaca, feathers, animal fur and nylon take the dye like a magnet when submerged in the dye bath. The self-leveling dye ensures perfectly even colors with no blotchiness or streaks. Acid dye lends itself to bright, vibrant colors including fluorescents! Create dazzling fiber works with the 48 colors available. To prepare the dye bath, heat a pot of water on a stove to 180 degrees F (80 degrees C) and add the dye. How much dye you need will depend on how much fabric you are using and the desired color. Review the technical information sheet for specific measurements. We also suggest doing a test swatch to ensure the shade is perfect for your project. Once the dye is mixed, add your pre-soaked fabric, ensuring the piece can move freely in the dye bath. Then, add your acid of choice, whether it is vinegar or citric acid. This is the only acid involved in the process, the dye itself is not acidic. The acid creates a chemical reaction that binds the dye to the fibers and makes them permanent. You can watch as the dye is magnetized to the fibers, leaving only the water behind to be easily disposed of. Along with traditional submersion or tub dyeing, you can also modify the dye to be used in a wide variety of techniques. Mix the dye with a thickener to use for screen printing or create a highly concentrated solution to use in silk painting. Be aware, the silk will need to be steam set once painted. Once mixed, the dye is shelf-stable, allowing you to mix large batches at once and store for the future. Some colors may need to be reheated before use.

  • Vibrant Color Payoff - This Jacquard dye creates intense and beautiful colors including a wide array of fluorescent colors. Experiment with different shades by using less dye and more water to create pastels, and more dye and less water for deeper, bolder colors
  • Best on Protein Fibers - Use as a nylon dye, wool or alpaca yarn dye, or to dye silk, feathers and animal fur. This dye can also be used on anything Nylon, so it can be used to color nylon wigs, tights, leggings and swimsuits, perfect for cosplay
  • Self-Leveling - Creates level, uniform colors when submerged in the dye bath. Try immersion dyeing, tub dyeing, direct application, garment dyeing, yarn dyeing, and itajime or shibori. Create a concentrated solution for silk painting or add thickener for screen printing. Steam setting is needed for these methods
  • Permanently Bonds to Fabric - Once the acid is added to the dye solution, the dye "magnetizes" to the material and bonds with the fibers. This also means the dye is pulled out of the water, leaving you with clean water to dispose of after the dyeing process, making clean up a breeze
  • Easy to Use - Heat the water to 180 degrees F (80 degrees C) then add the dye. Add wet fabric to the dye mixture, then add chosen acid (vinegar or citric acid). Acid Dyes are stable in solution, allowing you to save the dye bath or stock solution for future use

Not pregnant yet, but this book was the perfect balance of information and real-life story. It was so relatable and reassuring—I suddenly didn’t feel crazy for all the hours of baby research I’ve been doing. I never felt pressured, just encouraged and entertained while learning so much. Great Buy for First-Time-Mama's
Format: Hardcover
This is my first pregnancy, and I'm very happy I purchased this book. Meghan Trainor will make you laugh and she gets very real with you—it was almost as if I was hanging out with an old friend when I sat down to read. It's a mix of a memoir, a diary, and advice from experts including her personal trainer and her OB/GYN—including exercises by trimester and recipes. She also recommends some products without being sales-y. If you're a first-time-mom (or even if you're not), this is a great buy that's not like other pregnancy books (those can sometimes be information overload in my opinion). This would also be a great gift for a newly pregnant friend. You don't have to be a Meghan Trainor fan to enjoy this book. Book Highlights/Helpful Thoughts - One of my favorite phrases was "influencers are great, but they make pregnancy and labor an aesthetic, and girl, pregnancy is not an aesthetic, it's rough!" - Meghan wanted to give birth vaginally, but due to complications, she had to have a schedule C-Section and she talks about that experience extensively is a way that was helpful. I'm personally doing everything I can to have a natural vaginal birth, but life sometimes has other plans. It was helpful reading her take instead of reading the Reddit horror stories. I now know what to expect in a non-traumatizing way if I were to need a C-section. - Meghan was pregnant during the height of the Covid Pandemic in 2020—so her experiences are based on that. I say this, because she talks a lot about how her husband could not join in at any of her ultrasound appointments and her labor team was limited due to the restrictions. Thankfully appointments are no longer like that.
