The GF64 grinder from the DF grinders team was designed to be a high-performing value grinder.  It incorporates a lot of the features from the popular DF54  and DF64 such as custom made 64mm burrs, plasma generator, anti-popcorn and near zero retention.  It even adds time based dosing with 2 programmable doses and metal chute and portafilter fork.   The plastic body and small motor is how the DF team was able to offer such a great grinder at this price point while not sacrificing the grind quality.

The GF64 was designed with espresso in mind, but it is also very capable as an all purpose grinder.  The low retention, compact size and grind quality make it a perfect entry level grinder for any home setup.

  • 64mm flat burrs: Equipped with custom made 64mm stainless steel burrs for a consistent and fluffy grind.  
  • Plasma Generator:  Reduces static in the exit chute for all grind size and roast levels.
  • Timed Dosing:  Two programmable timed dosing and manual mode allows you to adjust and program grind time in 0.1 second increments giving you total control and a perfect dose every time.
  • Stepped Micrometric Adjustments: Chose between 100 grind adjustments for a full range from fine to coarse.
  • Rubber Bellow: The provided rubber can be used to push air through the grinder and ensure minimal retention after each dose.
  • 58mm dosing cup included:  Grind directly into the included dosing cup or into your portafilter.

A familiar story, just with…..less.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
