What Is Special About a Dachshund Fleece Jumper?

A Dachshund jumper is very different in proportions from a classic dog fleece because doxies' proportions are very different to a typical dog.

• At Dogsnug we make sure we keep their very long backs and bellies dry by designing the dachshund fleeces longer.
• We make Dachshunds' jumpers' sleeves snug to avoid their very short legs getting stuck in the jumper.
• Dachshunds are very close to the ground. This means that their bellies are more exposed to rain and mud splash. To help with this, the belly of our jumpers are long for better protection and snug to prevent the fabric from dragging, and for sausage boys from peeing inside it.

Our Dachshund Jumpers Are Also: 

• Machine washable: pop it in your machine at 30ºC. Please don't use conditioners or heavy detergents

• Well made: we use flat seams and overlocking to make the garment comfortable and long-lasting

• Water repellent: will keep your sausage dog dry even in heavy rain

• Comfortable: our fleece jumpers are soft and mould to the shape of your dachshund in no time. They are also great as pyjamas.

• Non-pilling: this fleece jumper will stay looking great for a long time

• Made with Fair Wages: we guarantee this by hand-crafting all our jumpers in our workshop in London

How To Put On A Dogsnug Fleece Jumper

Materials & Design

The jumpers are made with man-made polyester fleece, which is a naturally water-repellent material. Additionally, we wash our sausage dog coats with a water-repellent coating which is skin and environment-friendly.

Our dachshund fleece jumpers are in the UK in our London workshop.

We designed the Dachshund fleece jumper from scratch using our 20 years of expertise in the fashion industry; and through observation of the dachshunds' behaviour, and their play and walk style.

We first measured many different dachshunds for a year, allowing us to develop good prototypes to fit their unusual bodies.

Currently, we have a brick-and-mortar shop in London, which gives us the wonderful opportunity to keep fitting and measuring dachshunds to continue improving our product.

What Other Fits Are Available and Why?

• We make three fits of jumpers: for Sighthounds, for Dachshunds and for more Classic silhouettes.

• We also make to measure if your dog is too different from our measurements or has special needs. For example: If your dog is very large, is missing a leg, does not like garments over the head...If you feel you need this service please contact us and we will try our best to help

• We care about the fit very much. This is because most breeds have very specific shapes and behaviours that should be taken into account when making a garment for them.  If the fit is poor, your dog may refuse to wear it, it may rub their skin, and it could even change their behaviour.
