Bloemen, bessen en blad

De bloemen zijn wit+purper van kleur en de bloeiperiode duurt van ca. augustus tot en met september. De geurige, paarsrode en later zwarte vruchten zijn vanaf september rijp om te eten. De bessen smaken naar rozijnen met karamel of chocolade. De opvallende bladeren zijn geelgroen en later in de zomer lichtgroen.

Deze relatief onbekende struik kan goede tegen zoute lucht en luchtverontreiniging. Ook hebben we weinig eisen qua bodemsoort. Zorg voor een plekje in de zon of halfzon uit de koude wind.
