Dit geldt ook voor witte peper. Omdat witte peper een iets zoete nasmaak heeft, past deze specerij ook goed in zoete gerechten voor een extra beetje pit. Het product is verkrijgbaar in een large strooibus.

Peper is één van meest gebruikte specerijen ter wereld, zowel in zwarte als in witte vorm. Om witte peper te krijgen wordt de schil van de rijpe peperbes in stromend water weggewassen, zodat een blank peperbolletje tevoorschijn komt. Vervolgens worden (handmatig) de beste korrels geselecteerd waarna ze gemalen kunnen worden.
