Feromoon fruitmot

Het feromoon bevat de geur waarmee de vrouwtjes de mannetjes lokken om te paren. De mannetjes, aangetrokken door het vrouwelijke seksferomoon, komen op de lijmplaat terecht. Eén feromooncapsule is 6 weken werkzaam. Daarna moet de feromoonlure vervangen worden.

Wat doet de feromoonval?

Een feromoonval is een middel om het aantal schadelijke fruitmotten te monitoren en te beheersen. Mannetjes die worden weggevangen kunnen geen wijfjes meer bevruchten. Minder bevruchting leidt tot minder ei-afleg en dus minder schadelijke rupsen.

Deze methode biedt goede bescherming als de populatie schadelijke motten is afgebouwd. Het is doordat er steeds minder of zelfs geen motten meer in je omgeving vliegen, dat de schade minimalistisch of zelfs nihil wordt. Je moet dus verschillende jaren de feromoonval hangen om het gewenste resultaat te bekomen.

Dankzij de feromoonval ga je precies weten wanneer de vlucht van de fruitmot bij jou start. Als je een middel tegen fruitmot wilt spuiten, kan je dankzij deze monitoring dit met precisie doen.

Wanneer de feromoonval uithangen?

De feromoonval moet uitgehangen worden vooraleer de vlucht van de fruitmot start en tot het einde van de vlucht ingeval van bewaarappels en peren.

Uit waarnemingen blijkt dat in België de fruitmot tot nu toe ten vroegste op 21 april is uitgevlogen en tot in september heeft gevlogen. Deze begin- en einddatums variëren naargelang de warmte van het betreffende jaar. De laatste 10 jaren heeft men gezien dat de begin- en einddatums van de vluchten steeds verder uit elkaar komen te liggen m.a.w. dat de fruitmotten steeds langer vliegen.

Dit wetende is het belangrijk om de feromoonval fruitmot te hangen vanaf half april. Zo ben je zeker dat de vlucht nog niet begonnen is. Je blijft de val hangen tot in september ingeval je bewaarappels en peren hebt. Extra feromooncapsules kunnen apart worden bijgekocht.

Kan ik later dan half april nog een feromoonval hangen?

Zeker en vast! De piek in de vlucht van de fruitmot situeert zich vanaf de tweede helft van mei en eerste helft van juni. Het is dus zeker interessant om deze periode nog een feromoonval te hangen. Het jaar daarop hang je dan vanaf half april de val op.

Hoeveel vallen moet ik hangen?

Hang 1 val per 5 laagstam fruitbomen. De fruitbomen moeten zich situeren binnen een straal van 25 meter rond de val. Ingeval het volwassen hoogstambomen betreft, hang 1 feromoonval per boom of per twee bomen, afhankelijk van de infectiedruk die aanwezig is.

Teveel vallen hangen is niet goed. Hang dus nooit meerdere vallen in één boom. Op die manier worden er massaal motten aangetrokken maar ze vinden de vallen niet meer omdat de feromoongeur alom aanwezig is.

Waar de feromoonval fruitmot hangen?

Hang de feromoonval op ooghoogte op een luchtige plaats zodat de feromoongeur zich goed kan verspreiden. Het gemakkelijkst is aan de zijkant van de boom. Niet onder een dicht bladerdek hangen en ook niet in de felle wind.

Feromooncapsules bewaren

Bewaar de feromooncapsule in de vriezer in een gesloten potje om de feromoongeur maximaal te behouden. Je kan feromooncapsules die je in de diepvriezer bewaart het jaar van aankoop en het jaar nadien gebruiken. Bewaar feromooncapsules nooit op kamertemperatuur voor een langere periode, zo verliest het feromoon zijn werkingskracht.

Bewaarappels, wat nu?

In deze verpakking 'deltaval fruitmot' zitten standaard twee feromooncapsules. Dit is voldoende voor de fruitmot 12 weken te vangen. In geval je bescherming wilt tot half september (bewaarappels) moet nog twee feromooncapsule worden bijgekocht.
