Is the Death in Paradise series renewed or cancelled? We are waiting for the series 6 on BBC One in 2017. What about the exact air date?
Detective television series Death in Paradise is a joint development of BBC and France Televisions. It was broadcasted on BBC One channel from October 2011 and it is about the work of the London police detective on a tropical island in the Caribbean Sea. Shooting of the series takes place in Guadeloupe.
In the first two seasons the lead role was played by Ben Miller, but after the killing of his character, Detective Poole, the project joined actor Kris Marshall.
At the moment, it were shooted five full seasons of this series and the renewal of it to the sixth season is already being discussed (UPDATE 1) by right holders and crew team. While there is no single solution on this issue, but experts believe it is unlikely that this story will end, because the popularity of the show is growing every year.

UPDATE 1 (February 24, 2016): BBC One’s hit crime drama Death In Paradise will be back for a sixth series. The show will return in 2017.
