Should the TV viewers wait for the new season of «Louie» show or is the given TV series already canceled? What about Season 6 start date?

The fact that the fifth season of the television series «Louie» got only 8 episodes instead of the usual 13, caused a lot of rumors concerning the cancellation of the TV-project in 2015.

However, the creators said that the decision on the reduction of the number of episodes didn’t imply its early completion and there was no need to worry yet.

Louis C.K. promised that in future the show would be full of funny episodes instead of dramatic ones, which caused criticism of the TV-project. Will Season 6 be ordered?

UPDATE 1 (August 8, 2015): FX Networks CEO John Landgraf announced that “Louie” is on an “extended hiatus”. Season 6 will head into production someday, whenever Louis C.K. is ready.
