Scream season 2 premiere date

When will Scream season 2 premiere? MTV confirmed that the series was renewed for a second season. We want to know the exact start date in 2016!

In June 2012 MTV television channel was announced to release the franchise of television series Scream. The shootings of the pilot episode started in April 2013 and the first preparation works were launched. In August 2014 after the casting the filming process started.

The project premiered on MTV in June 2015 and the number of viewers, watching the first episode, comprised over 1 million people. Right after its debut, the television series was discussed on many movie websites and the critics’ opinions on that account were very different.

Its score on Rotten Tomatoes was always 5.2/10, and on Metacritic it succeeded to get 57 out of 100. Despite the ambiguous opinions of experts, the rights holders are satisfied with the rating of the first season, that’s why MTV representatives announced about the renewal of the show Scream for Season 2 within Television Critics Association.

The creators didn’t wait for the release of the last episode of its debut season and confirmed that the work on the scripts was started and the premiere date of the continuation was scheduled for spring-summer 2016 (UPDATE 1). Now we should only follow the announcements of MTV and wait for the news on the start of the second season. Let’s wait!

UPDATE 1 (March 10, 2016): The second season will premiere on May 31, 2016 (Tuesday, at 10/9c).

UPDATE 2 (April 8, 2016): Previously scheduled to kick off Tuesday, May 31 at 10/9c, the MTV series is now going to return Monday, May 30, 2016.

UPDATE 3 (June 22, 2016): Season 2 of Scream is moving to Tuesdays at 10 pm starting June 28, 2016.
