Game of Thrones season 6: premiere date (2016)

When will season 6 of Game of Thrones premiere in 2016? The TV viewers would like to know the start air date of the new episodes on HBO!

Last year the creators of “Game of Thrones” television series officially announced about its renewal not only for the 5th, but also for the 6th Season. The premiere of the new episodes is scheduled for April 2015 and April 2016 accordingly.

In his interview Michael Lombardo (the president of programming for HBO) suggested the TV-project to be phenomenal, different from the other TV shows.

David Benioff and Dan Weiss in their turn noted that the writer George Martin had already informed them about the plot of unfinished books as well as the anticipated final, that was why they weren’t going to postpone the last show seasons for several years to give George Marting time to finish the books. The producers consider it possible, though undesirable, that the television series “Game of Thrones” is finished before the last book is published, so they have “back-up plan” for that case.

In their interviews they mentioned repeatedly that the best way was to make the seventh season the last one, but Michael Lombardo said, that “seven seasons sounds good to the network, though eight would sound even better”.

The exact start date of the premiere of Season 6 is still being awaited. Follow the updates!
