When will Mako Mermaids season 3 be released? The 16 new episodes is scheduled for start in 2016. We want to know the exact premiere date!

In July 2013 the Austrian television channel Network Ten launched the show Mako Mermaids, still known as Mako: Island of Secrets. This is spin-off of once popular project H2O: Just Add Water, which renewal is still required by its fans.

Jonathan M. Shiff, who has been working on the original version, is a director of the show. The plot follows already familiar the Moon Pool. When 15-year old Zac goes to camp on Maco Island, he is unaware of three mermaids Sirena, Nixie and Lyla, who watch every his step. The mermaids are supposed to guard the island from the outside interference. At the full moon Zac appears in the Moon Pool, acquires magical powers and becomes a Triton. The next morning he discovers an ability to manipulate a water. Later, after touching of a water, his legs turned to fish tail. Nixie, Lyla and Sirena are expelled from the pack as a punishment. If they want to come back, they should turn to humans and to take away Zac’s magical powers. Heartbroken girls decided to do this. But Zac brings a lot of surprises to the mermaids from Maco. Two new mermaids Ondina and Mimmi appear in the second season, as well as a triton Erik…

The first and the second season got 26 episodes each and were appreciated by critics. TV viewers also liked the new project. But many fans of the original version have been disappointed with the spin-off. Taking into account positive rating, the rights holders decided to renew the show for Season 3, which was reported officially.

The shootings of the new episodes started in April the current year with the end in August. And 16 new episodes, which will become the last ones, will be produced. So, the third season is to become the final of the story.
