When will UnREAL season 2 come out? The series was picked up for a second season. We want to know the premiere start date on Lifetime in 2016.
This year Lifetime launched the new television series in the genre of dark comedy named UnREAL. It premiered on the first summer day and attracted 820 thousand Americans. Marti Noxon and Sarah Gertrude Shapiro developed the show, and Shiri Appleby performs the main role. Robert M. Sertner, Bill Davenport and Sally DeSipio are among the executive producers, and A+E Studios and Wieden-Kennedy Entertainment are responsible for the production.
The plot follows the backstage of the popular reality show Everlasting, based on relationship seeking, as well as on activities of its employee Rachel Goldberg, who manipulates the contestants on the requirement of the executive producer Quinn King (Constance Zimmer).
The pilot episode was bought in summer 2013, and in February 2014 the green light was given to the creation of the first season, comprising 10 episodes. As expected, the show was appreciated by critics after its debut. Merrill Barr of Forbes called it one of the best summer projects. On Rotten Tomatoes its average score is 4.3/5, and on Metacritic it got 77 points out of 100. The success of the project is also proved by the fact that on 5th Critics’ Choice Television Awards it was one of the honorees in Most Exciting New Series category.
The rights holders are proud of the show and are completely satisfied with the performance it demonstrates. Lifetime announced about the renewal of the show UnREAL for Season 2 on June 6 and on the same day it was reported that the premiere date of the new episodes (they would comprise 10 again) was scheduled for June 6, 2016 (UPDATE 1).
Such a decision wasn’t a surprise, as the project is really good. Follow the updates!
