Good news! History renewed Vikings for a fourth season. What about the start air date? The premiere is scheduled for early 2016.

This year the show «Vikings» strengthened its position in the ranking of History television series and ranking as the No. 1 cable series on Thursday nights.
The TV-project is very popular among people from 18 to 49 (about 2 million people), and the number of fans is more than 4 million people.
Total success of the show allowed the rights holders to renew it for Season 4, which was officially announced by History GM Dirk Hoogstra in his interview. He confirmed that Michael Hirst would head the shooting process again – he was ready to surprise the fans in the new season.
As for the start date of the new 20 episodes, it is scheduled for February 18, 2016 (at 10/9c).

UPDATE 1: 20 episodes are to be split into two parts of 10 episodes, with the second half set to air later in 2016. Follow the news!
UPDATE 2 (March 17, 2016): History has ordered a 20-episode FIFTH SEASON of Vikings for premiere in 2017.
UPDATE 3 (Sept.14, 2016): Vikings will resume its Season 4 journey on November 30, 2016 (at 9/8c).
